It's Official...

When two geeks marry and have children, they produce geeks (very cute geeks, but geeks none the less). Karin received a superior rating for her science fair project entitled "Vibrational Frequency of Springs," at the Plain Local Science Fair. She also won the best 7th grade project for Glenwood Middle School. She came home the next day and said received the highest score for her school. She is very excited to go to the district fair.



Karin choose her project from an idea website her teacher suggested. I was not that excited because it would require us to buy some electronic equipment to get the experiment to work. Kris discussed the project with his friend that owns some of the required equipment and found out what was needed. He went looking for a data acquisition unit, he found a company that made what he needed for $50, so he started to checking into sources online where he could buy. He found out the company that made the data acquisition unit is right here in Ohio, in Akron. He went to the company to buy it and started talking to someone there and mentioned that it was for Karin's science fair project and the guy said , "Oh, then it's free." They apparently don't advertise they will give them away, but if you mention what that it will be used for a science fair project, they will give it to you. Something we would have never known, if the company had been far away. Ohio is a great place to live, you can find anything here, and cheap.
